You're Invited: 2026 Mid-Atlantic Wheat Tour and Banquet

Penn State Extension and PennAg Industries are working together to host an educational field walk and banquet geared towards wheat producers in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Wheat producers, millers, and crop advisors in the Mid-Atlantic region will want to join Penn State Extension specialists and milling industry representatives on Thursday, June 11, 2026, for the Mid-Atlantic Soft Wheat Tour Field Walk.

This afternoon program, hosted at the Penn State Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center, 1446 Auction Road, Manheim, PA, will focus on production practices necessary for growing high-quality milling wheat. The program begins at 1:30 PM and is free to attend.

Topics for discussion include:

  • Wheat and Washington, D.C. - Sam Kieffer, National Association of Wheat Growers
  • Fungicide Efficacy Research - Alyssa Collins, Penn State Extension
  • Nitrogen and Plant Growth Regulators - Daniela Carrijo, Penn State Extension

A barbecue dinner will follow at 5:00 PM at the Manheim Community Farm Show, 502 East Adele Avenue, Manheim, PA. Registration and payment are required for dinner by contacting Courtney Love at 223-259-8625 or clove@pennag.com by 12:00 PM on May 29.
