Women Rooted in Agriculture- Agritourism
Agritourism is a combination of two important industries in Pennsylvania, agriculture and tourism. Vale Wood Farms in Loretto, PA have been doing this for many years. It is important to them to share their passion for the dairy industry with consumers. They do just that by hosting school tours, pumpkin patches, and various other events throughout the year. They process the milk from their cows, along with milk from neighboring farms, into a full line of quality dairy products that they deliver to local customers.
We will be learning about the Itle's agritourism business from setting up and getting started to advertising and keeping the events going year after year. They will also discuss with us the challenges they face and how they handle them when they arise. We will then tour the farms dairy processing facility, to learn about advertising, home delivery, and product development.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn from a local farm family that has diversified their business.
Please come prepared for the weather, this event will be held outside.
