Description

The first step in effective management of weeds is proper identification. Proper weed scouting provides information about weed pressure and the effectiveness of control measures. Each participant will receive a full-color guide entitled "Stubborn Weeds of Pennsylvania" (available in English and Spanish).

Session Topics (in English and Spanish):

  • weed identification and scouting
  • weed control for nursery, landscape and greenhouse operations
  • safe application of herbicides
  • USDA NRCS programs and technical assistance

Pesticide recertification credits (1 core and 2 category PC, 06, 07, 18, 22, and 23) have been granted by PDA. There is no charge for this meeting.

The workshop and weed guides are supported by a PDA Specialty Crop Block Grant titled "Sustainable Production and Pest Management Innovations for Next Generation Young and Latino Specialty Crop Growers" (Grant ME#44166076).
