About The In-Person Workshop
Down the drain—and then what happens? Most people take for granted the availability of clean water and what happens after it is used. If you have ever wondered what happens once water leaves your home or business and enters a municipal wastewater system, join us to discover the mysteries of wastewater treatment. The staff of the Gettysburg Municipal Authority's Wastewater Treatment Plant are opening their doors for a behind-the-scenes look at how wastewater is collected, treated, and safely managed before it is returned to the environment. This unique educational tour offers an opportunity to learn about the essential role wastewater treatment plays in protecting public health and water quality.
Closed-toe shoes are required. This tour includes walking on uneven indoor and outdoor surfaces and climbing stairs. Please dress appropriately for the weather, as the tour will take place rain or shine.
