The course is designed for lay people and experts alike. Become one of the Tree Tenders restoring and tending your part of the forest.

Since 1993 PHS has trained over 3200 Tree Tenders in 250 PA neighborhoods. Since 2004, the program has been supported by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resource's TreeVitalize initiative, and continues in support of the mission to increase Pennsylvania's tree canopy.

Sponsored by the DCNR Bureau of Forestry.

The course has been offered statewide to thousands of concerned citizens like you. Instruction is provided by DCNR's Bureau of Forestry, in partnership with Penn State Extension, PHS, and other local urban forestry experts.
