This region has nearly 20 Master Watershed Stewards, and includes the counties of Cameron, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, and Tioga. In this position, he focuses on watershed & land use education, and works in collaboration with program partners to recruit and train new volunteers, host programs, and facilitate outreach efforts. Travis came to Extension with a background as a high school English teacher, heat treatment operator & laboratory technician, pressed metal manager, and carbon lathe operator, outdoor skills educator, and camp staff director. He grew up on the family farm where he learned to harvest corn and hay, raise small livestock, produce maple syrup, and process wild game. Prior to joining Extension, he worked as an outdoor blogger that focused on environmental education, nature writing, hiking/backpacking product reviews, and PA Wilds locations. He has also served as a Boy Scout & Cub Scout leader, and is currently co-leading the Cameron/Elk County 4-H Outdoor Club.
