Dr. Ray's Comments:

Prices for key species moved strongly upwards in the second quarter of 2018. Black cherry moved up strongly in all four regions; red oak trended upward in all but the southwestern part of the state; and white oak moved up strongly in the southeastern section of the state while remaining steady in the rest of the state. Hard maple moved higher, while soft maple held steady. Contributors commented on the impact of new tariffs on foreign export markets; the impact this quarter seems to be increased prices, perhaps to beat the impact of future tariffs.
