Dr. Jacobson's Comments

Although we had a fairly mild and therefore wet and muddy winter, prices for the 1st quarter of 2017 seem to be stable. There is somewhat a of market interest in darker species as evidenced by slightly higher cherry and red oak prices and higher than normal interest in finding walnut prices. The downshift you see on the graphs is mainly due to less than normal reporting. We rely on you to make the report work, so your responses are important. This summer we plan to assess the report and the mailing list. If you have ideas for improving the reporting process or the report itself please let us know.
