Tim Abbey's main responsibility is to educate nursery and landscape care professionals on how to manage ornamental plant pests using integrated pest management (IPM) strategies in the counties surrounding Harrisburg. He also coordinates educational programs that focus on pest management, tree care and other horticultural topics.
He also serves as a resource for other audiences such as:Â Master Gardener training; educational lectures on ornamental plant pests outside of his base area; and entomology lectures to civic organizations, garden clubs and children's groups.
B.S. in biology/ecology from Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA
M.S. in turfgrass IPM from the Entomology Department at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD.
