About The In-Person Workshop

Alzheimer's and other dementias can cause changes in memory, thinking, and behavior that disrupt daily life and create challenges for caregivers. In partnership with the Alzheimer's Association, Penn State Extension presents The Empowered Caregiver, an evidence-based community education program designed to provide practical tools and guidance. The "Supporting Independence" session will explore strategies to help individuals living with dementia remain engaged in daily activities by offering the appropriate level of assistance, balancing safety with autonomy, and setting realistic expectations to promote dignity and quality of life.

This event is being offered at no charge to participants.
