About The In-Person Workshop
Alzheimer's disease and other dementias affect memory, thinking, and behavior, often making daily activities and caregiving more complex. In partnership with the Alzheimer's Association, Penn State Extension offers The Empowered Caregiver, an evidence-based education program designed to support those caring for individuals with dementia. The "Building Foundations"Â session introduces the five key areas of a person-centered care approach, providing practical insights to help caregivers better understand and respond to the needs of those in their care.
This event is being offered at no charge to participants.

This program is for family members and friends caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias who want to strengthen their caregiving skills while supporting their own mental and physical well-being.
