Description

The summer beef field day is a free event, open to all beef producers in Pennsylvania and surrounding states with an interest in learning how to utilize genomic and phenotypic selection in breeding for the future. Information will be provided on a new feeder calf marketing program that will link the use of genomics between the cow/calf producer and the modern day feedlot producer. Attendees will be able to tour the world renowned Penn State Angus herd and the Haller Research Farm.

Who is this for?

All Beef cattle producers in Pennsylvania and surrounding areas are invited to attend.

What will you learn?

Producers will learn how to apply genomic information into practical situations and will come from this field with a better understanding of how genomic information will be applied to their operation in the future. They will also become familiar with the beef cattle/forage research that has been conducted or will be conducted at the Haller research farm.
