Social and emotional skills are using both your social awareness and emotional skills to get along and work well with others in all kinds of situations at home, school, work and everyday life. It's being a well-functioning, valuable citizen. These skills are essentially "living" The Golden Rule and "treating others the way you want to be treated".
Children who have a healthy maturation of these five core social and emotional skills are more successful in school, home and daily life.
