About The In-Person Workshop
Please join the Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon County Master Gardeners for a bus trip to Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden and the Botany of Nations exhibit at the Academy of Natural Sciences. Stoneleigh showcases the use of native plants in gardens of all styles, from formal designs to informal landscapes and everything in between. Often recognized as one of the best gardens to visit for those interested in native plants, it features English-style borders, a modern water garden, formal garden circles, and a variety of straight and meandering paths. Participants will enjoy a guided tour of the gardens and grand house. The trip also includes a visit to the Botany of Nations exhibit, which features plant specimens and herbarium sheets collected during the Lewis and Clark expedition. A guided tour of the exhibit will be provided, along with time to explore a native plant garden featuring native heritage plants.
Lunch is on your own. Packing a lunch is recommended, as picnic benches are available throughout the garden.
Space is limited. Preregistration is required.
