About The In-Person Workshop
Discover how silvopasture can improve farm productivity while supporting long-term environmental stewardship. By integrating trees, forage, and livestock into a single managed system, silvopasture offers producers practical opportunities to enhance livestock performance, improve soil health, and protect water quality. This workshop will explore the fundamentals of planning, establishing, and managing silvopastures, including forage selection, tree care, and livestock management considerations. Participants will also learn about current research examining how silvopastures reduce runoff, retain nutrients, and improve soil and water resources. Funding opportunities and science-based management strategies will be shared to help producers and natural resource professionals evaluate and implement silvopasture practices on their operations.
A light breakfast and lunch are included.
Funding for this workshop is provided by the College of Agricultural Sciences through the Science to Practice Grant Program.
This event is being offered at no charge to participants.
