SILVAH Training: Allegheny Hardwood
The Allegheny Hardwood SILVAH training session is an intensive 3-day workshop designed to give participants comprehensive knowledge about forest ecology and management of Allegheny hardwood and Northern hardwood forests.
Field exercises are done in crews and will be conducted regardless of weather. Participants are expected to bring a hardhat and standard forest inventory equipment. A laptop, with SILVAH software installed, is helpful, but not required. Current SILVAH software is available on the Web site at www.nrs.fs.fed.us/tools/SILVAH.
