Seeds, Heirlooms, and Hybrids
#WSP-G-1160
Overview
Description
Penn State Master Gardeners in Cumberland County are hosting a free presentation at their Trial and Idea Garden.
Seeds may seem mundane and familiar to you, but they are a remarkable adaptation of many plants that allows them to survive and spread, much to our benefit. Learn about the wonders of seeds, the difference between heirloom and hybrid seed varieties, and tips for collecting and saving seeds so that you can “seed ‘em and reap” the harvest. There will also be free seed packets available for your home garden.
You will also be able to tour the Trial and Idea Garden with Master Gardeners, who can show you the annuals they are evaluating in the garden as well as answer your gardening questions. You can also check out the “Little Free Library” located at the garden and find a great book to take home and read!
This free, informal program will be held outdoors, rain or shine. There is no pre-registration required, and everyone is welcome to attend. Please park in the parking lot across from the garden along Army Heritage Drive.
