    About Me

Worked for a large hardwood manufacturer in southwest Pennsylvania for 9 years. Duties performed there included operating 19 dry kilns, lumber inspector, and supervisor of kiln and yard personnel.

Began working for Penn State Extension in 2006 as a forest resources educator. Programs include education for private forest landowners to enable them to manage their forest in a sustainable manner.

Programs for the wood products industry include a 3-day dry kiln short course to teach new kiln operators and supervisors how to properly dry lumber, a hardwood lumber grading workshop, and assistance to companies to troubleshoot problems to increase quality and production of their product. Also is very involved with the Keystone Kiln Drying Association.
