Sarah Ruszkowski is a Research Technologist at Penn State University where she works on research projects that focus on the health, well-being, and safety of farm families and rural communities. Sarah earned a master's degree in Migration Studies from the University of San Francisco and previously worked in their International Student and Scholar Services department. Her master's research project explored challenges and opportunities for alliance building among food justice focused organizations in the US, particularly between groups organizing for growers and farm workers. Sarah hopes to engage in participatory research methods that center the perspectives of families, farmers, and farm workers in order to better understand the support systems that can improve their livelihoods.
