Remi Ham is a horticulture and urban agriculture educator with over 15 years of experience spanning academia, extension, landscape design, and community-based initiatives. She currently serves as an Extension Educator with a concentration in Urban Agriculture and Horticulture at Pennsylvania State University. At Penn State Extension, Remi leads the development of research-based training and programs to strengthen Pittsburgh’s urban agriculture community. Her work includes partnering with local organizations and producers, providing hands-on training, developing programs, and creating educational resources for urban-scale growers.

Previously, Remi held a faculty position at North Carolina State University as an Assistant Teaching Professor, Distance Education Coordinator, and Farm to School Specialist. In this role, she taught courses such as World of Horticulture, Home Food Production, and Gardening with Herbaceous Perennials, while directing the department’s distance education program and leading Extension Farm to School initiatives. Her efforts included designing online and in-person curricula, coordinating graduate programs, and contributing to local food systems through outreach and grant-funded projects.

Ham holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Florida A&M University and a Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia. Her work has earned multiple teaching awards and over $1.4 million in grant funding, with expertise in community food systems, sustainable production, and youth garden education.
