Barbara is a local business manager and a member of Lock Haven City Council. In addition, Barbara works part time at an accounting firm and at her local gym.
Barbara lives and works in Lock Haven. As an active member of the community, Barbara enjoys community-based activities, hiking and bicycling on the local trails, and participating in community events. Barbara and her husband are the proud parents of one daughter and grandparents to two grandsons.
Barbara attended Wells College in Aurora, New York, and Lock Haven University. Majoring in Biology and Chemistry, Secondary Education. Lacking a desire to teach, Barb pursued a career in Real Estate and Property Management. Working for one of the most successful real estate firms in Clinton County, Barb was a top producer in single family home sales and helped many clients build rental property portfolios, including her brother. After working for this firm for 20 years, Barb and her brother formed their current family business.
Barbara manages her family's rental property business. Overseeing the day-to-day operations of over 50 rental units located in and around the greater Lock Haven area. Barbara's family is proud to offer affordable and well-maintained homes to over 100 residents. As the primary manager, Barbara deals with all rental collection, maintenance, and property-related issues on a daily basis.
Barbara was appointed to Lock Haven City Council in February 2020. Barb filled a position vacated by another member of Council. After completing the balance of the term, Barbara ran and was elected to serve a full term on Council in 2022. Barbara ran for Mayor in 2023 and was defeated by the incumbent candidate. This was a great learning experience, and it provided Barbara with insight into her own leadership style. It also created a desire to help develop leadership skills in others as a means of providing a better quality of leaders in local government.
Barbara serves on the Lock Haven City Police collective bargaining unit, the City's AFSCME collective bargaining unit, the City Water Department Sub-committee, the City Airport Committee, and the Clinton County Recreation Board. Barbara will begin serving on the Leadership Clinton County Advisory Board in January 2025.
Barbara is a proud graduate of the RULE program (RULE XIX). The RULE experience has been inspiring and life-changing in many ways. Barb is looking forward to continuing and sharing the RULE experience with a new group of RULE Scholars.
In her spare time, Barbara enjoys reading, painting, hiking, biking, and spending time with friends and family.
