Caleb Miller, a recent graduate of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and agriculture enthusiast at heart, takes every opportunity as a chance to grow as a person and gain wisdom. His agriculture background stems from 10 years in multiple 4- H clubs and being raised from a very young age alongside the cattle on his family's farm. He was showing lambs as early as 6 years old, eventually leading into a strong interest in cattle. Throughout this passionate endeavor, Caleb held multiple offices in the 4-H beef club including president, Vice President, and Treasurer. He joined PA Jr Angus and PA Livestock Assoc. to be further involved in the cattle industry. The past two years Caleb had the chance to become involved with the All American Dairy Show working as a co-barn manager during the week of the show. Being able to communicate respectfully was a huge factor in this role. Despite being raised on a
beef farm, it was still a very enjoyable experience getting to form new friendships. He has additionally been accepted onto the PA Farm Show Jr Committee for the past 3 years. While on the Jr committee he played a role serving visitors, exhibitors and staff of the Farm Show. His roles also included assisting to create social media content, logistics planning, and creating a stage presentation.
What was unforeseen to many friends and family was also Caleb's interest in electricity and the mechanical machines that run the world. His favorite activity growing up was learning how to repair farm equipment with his grandpa and do handy work with his dad. Many days after school were spent learning the value of hard work and hands on skills such as welding.
Caleb currently works with Constellation Energy on their Traveling Turbine Maintenance team for Nuclear Power Plants. Constellation Energy has locations throughout NY, PA, and MD at which they service valves and other components connected to the steam generators. The goal is to replace the parts before they fail unexpectedly and cause a catastrophe.
Caleb still helps on his family farm on weekends and enjoys reconnecting with his agricultural family at fairs/events. Today Caleb is in the process of advancing his career by applying for an Electrical Engineering degree and hopes to gain the knowledge necessary to work in a sector that benefits both agriculture as a whole and farmers so he can repay the community that raised him.
