He previously led the American Wine Society, a national credentialing and educational organization, as its executive director, strengthening its mission over his six-year tenure.

David is actively engaged in his community and professional associations, serving as treasurer for the Scranton Downtown Federal Credit Union, chair of the City of Scranton Board of Ethics, and regent for the Institute for Organization Management (IOM) Northeast, based at Villanova University. His commitment to board effectiveness, governance and group dynamics led him to earn the IOM designation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, as well as certifications in Leading Remote Teams from Cornell University’s executive program and as a BoardSource-certified nonprofit board consultant.

David’s educational background includes a degree from Penn State’s School of Communications as a Schreyer Scholar, along with 15 years as a journalist covering government and civic issues for Pennsylvania newspapers. He also completed the University of Scranton Kania School of Management Nonprofit Leadership Certification Program in 2017.

In addition to his Certified Association Executive (CAE) and Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designations, David has held advisory roles on the public policy and small staff advisory boards of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). Passionate about enhancing nonprofit governance, he continues to consult for small nonprofits and associations, helping them thrive and achieve their missions.
