The Nutrient Management Program has updated the Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) Spreadsheet to Version 10.1. Several updates were added to resolve identified issues and provide additional information.

The updated NMP Version 10.1 can be found on the Nutrient Management Website in the planning tools section.

Planners may use either NMP Version 10.0 or 10.1 when planning for crop year 2027 and beyond.

The following updates were made to version 10.1

  1. Rainfall Worksheet
    • The spelling of Mc Kean County was changed to match the spelling in the table of rainfall data, eliminating a look-up error:

Rainfall Worksheet Example: In Version 10.1, the Mc Kean County rainfall data are used to calculate the gallons of rainfall directly on a manure storage.

2.  Grazing Calculator

2.1. The "Days on Pasture" cell turns red to indicate when the number of days on pasture exceeds the number entered in Appendix 3 Input.

Grazing Group Manure Calculator Example: The red cells show that the goat does have 250 days on pasture in the Grazing Calculator, which exceeds the 240 days entered in Appendix 3. As a result, the total uncollected manure allocated in the Grazing Calculator exceeds the uncollected manure generated in Appendix 3.

3.  Appendix 4 Input/ Printout

3.1.  Added error messages to indicate missing crop or manure information needed for the Balanced Manure Rate calculations.

Missing Crop Yield Example: NMP Version 10.1 provides an error message to indicate that the crop yield is needed to complete the Balanced Manure Rate Calculations.

4.  Updated Contacts for Additional Information worksheet.

5.  Previous NMP Version Transfers. Previous versions of NMP 8.x, 9.x, and 10.0 files can be transferred to NMP Version 10.1.

The standard format Excel file: NMP Version 10.1 2025-10 (2007-2019 Excel) is now available on the Nutrient Management Website under planning tools. As a reminder, a detailed description of all updates to the NMP is available in the Version Updates tab of the NMP spreadsheet. It is also the most recent update posted on the website in the "Latest News" section.
