The Nutrient Management Program has updated the Nutrient Balance Sheet (NBS) Spreadsheet to Version 8.4. Several updates were added to resolve identified issues and provide additional information.
The updated NBS Version 8.4 can be found on the Nutrient Management Website in the planning tools section.
The following updates were made to version 8.4
1. Manure Group Printout- Manure use by season table
Updated formulas to show the amount of manure planned for fall for manure groups 1 and 11.
2. Residual manure N options
Updated the menus of residual manure nitrogen so that the double crop options show up only when the field/CMU is designated as "Winter crop in the double crop" or "Summer crop in the double crop".
3. NBS Transfer of Previous Versions
Previous versions of NBS 5, 6, 7, and 8.x files can be transferred to NBS Version 8.4.
As a reminder, there is a detailed description of all the updates to the NBS in the Version Updates tab of the NBS spreadsheet. It is also the most recent update posted on the website in the "Latest News" section.
