NBS Spreadsheet Version 8.2 – Oct 2025 has been released by the Act 38 Pennsylvania Nutrient Management Program. There are revision updates that can affect certain planning scenarios. Planners can use any revision of Version 8.x however the best practice is to use the most recent revision when starting a new plan.
If a planner experiences the problem summarized in item 1 below, then NBS Version 8.2 – October 2025 must be used. A summary of the update with screenshot is attached to this email.
The updated NBS Version 8.2 can be found on the Nutrient Management Website in the planning tools section
The following updates were made to version 8.2:
1. P Index Fields Grouped Issue
Corrected an error in grouping P Index fields that was causing the "Field ID's" and "Sum of Field Acres" columns to be blank in both the P Index grouped and NBS Summary sheets. The Final Nutrient Balance columns were off by one column.
2. Previous NBS Version Transfers
Previous versions of NBS 6, 7, and 8.x files can be transferred to NBS Version 8.2.
As a reminder, there is a detailed description of all the updates to the NBS in the Version Updates tab of the NBS spreadsheet. It is also the most recent update posted on the website in the "Latest News" section.
