In partnership with Penn State University's Pesticide Education Program, Master Gardeners presented the "Mr. Yuk" Poison Prevention Program to 2,198 first-grade students and 150 adults in 123 classrooms in 37 schools.

Total reach was 6,286 people through take-home information and activities.

Methods

  • Recruit MG volunteers and contact schools four months ahead
  • Place calendar and school information in a shared folder available to all
  • Train volunteers to present the info with the use of posters and props
  • Confirm schools one week ahead
  • Request schools to answer survey evaluations after the presentations
