Master Gardener Basic Training: Erie County

Penn State Master Gardeners are members of the community who have an interest in gardening and a desire to help others. What sets them apart from other gardeners is the intensive training in horticulture they receive from Penn State Extension. In exchange for their training, Penn State Master Gardeners serve as volunteers for Extension horticulture programs.

Do you love to garden, want to learn more and help others in the community? Join us and start your path to becoming a Penn State Master Gardener! In exchange for your training, Master Gardeners serve as volunteers in educating the public on best practices in consumer horticulture.

Dates and Times

The Erie County Master Gardener Program will begin their 2017 Master Gardener training class on beginning October 5, 2017 through March 15, 2018. Classes run every Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (except for October 26, Thanksgiving, and December 28.

Location

Most class sessions will be held at the Erie County - 911 Call Center, 2880 Flower Rd. Erie, PA 16509.

However, several sessions will be conducted at the Erie County Conservation District, 1927 Wager Road, Erie PA 16509

Cost of the Program?

The cost of the Adobe Connect Master Gardener Basic Training class is $200 per person. While the course is offered online, the instructor delivers the program live and most sessions include an interactive activity. The fee covers the training manual, printing and program supplies, name badges and IT support.
