The Penn State Extension Master Gardener Program in Lehigh and Northampton counties is training a new class in fall of 2017. We are looking for individuals that have a keen interest in gardening, a willingness to learn more and most importantly, a strong desire to make a difference in the community. So whether you are a teacher, an accountant, a construction worker, a homemaker, a student, or have another background, YOU can become a Master Gardener.

To become a certified Master Gardener, you must complete 40 hours of training and fulfill 50 hours of volunteer service. After becoming certified, you can maintain your status by giving at least 20 volunteer hours and attending at least 10 hours of continuing education annually.

The 2017 training program will begin on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, and continue on subsequent Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. through December 12, 2017. The sessions will be split between the Lehigh County Extension office in Allentown and the Northampton County Extension office in Nazareth.
