21st Annual Native Plant Sale to be held inside

Join MAEscapes and the Penn State Master Gardeners as we celebrate our 21st annual Native Plant Sale on Saturday, May 13th at the York County Annex, 112 Pleasant Acres Rd, York PA 17402. Because of forecast of rain, we are moving inside!! Join us from 8:30 a.m to 2:00 p.m. Come early for the best selection. Proceeds benefit MAEscapes gardens and educational programs.

Plant growers from around the region will offer a large selection of native plants for sale including trees and shrubs suited for our area and many hard-to-find plants.

Heirloom vegetable seedlings will be offered for sale by The Horn Farm Center and the Mason Dixon Unit of the Herb Society of America will have herb plants available.

Master Gardeners and MAEscapes experts will be on hand to answer your gardening questions and help you decide on the best plants for your needs.

New this year will be a food truck on site, providing a delicious breakfast and lunch menu!

Music will be provided by Indian Summer Jars.

New this year... Pollinator Friendly Annuals (not treated with chemicals, non-native).

The following vendors will be at the sale: Butterfly Oasis Nursery, Creative Nature Works, Heartwood Nursery and Garden/Gift Shop, Horn Farm Center, Keystone Wildflowers, Kollar Nursery, Mason Dixon Unit Herb Society of America, Meadowsweet Native Plant Farm, Nurturing Nature Nursery, Spring Haven Natives, Penn State Master Gardeners of York County.

Through these Native Plant Sales and your support, together we have planted more than 40,000 native plants to attract butterflies, birds and bees and over 5,000 milkweed plants to support our Monarch populations. Did you know the Monarch butterfly can't survive without milkweed? Natives are more than just herbaceous flowers, too!  We create living landscapes by planting hundreds of trees and shrubs including dogwood, serviceberry, spicebush, maples and blueberries to help our breeding birds feed their young and increase their population. That's an accomplishment to be celebrated!
