Managed by the Penn State Master Gardeners of Washington County since 2016, the Monongahela Pollinator Garden is dedicated exclusively to native plants that support pollinators from early spring through late fall. With around 20 native species—including early bloomers like Golden Alexanders and Columbine, and late bloomers such as New England Asters and Goldenrod—the garden provides a continuous source of food and habitat for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
The garden also features an educational Garden Box stocked with seeds and free resources to help visitors start their own pollinator-friendly gardens. This year, all plants will be clearly labeled to help visitors learn more about native species and inspire sustainable gardening choices in their own yards.
