The Master Gardeners of Washington County maintain a series of demonstration gardens throughout the Washington County Fairgrounds. These gardens highlight key principles of landscape design, featuring mixed beds of annuals and perennials, native plants in formal settings, seasonal interest plantings, and combinations of shrubs and trees.
Our gardens are located near the Gazebo, Office, Rabbit Barn, Dairy Goat Barn, Show Arena, Memorial, and Pollinator Hill. They enhance the beauty of the fairgrounds while raising awareness of the Master Gardener program and its contributions to the community.
The fairgrounds are home to the Washington County Fair—the oldest agricultural fair in Pennsylvania—which attracts over 40,000 visitors annually. Many other events take place on the grounds year-round, providing continued exposure to our gardens and educational mission.
