Tucked beside the Burgettstown Community Library, this dynamic demonstration garden is a living classroom where curiosity grows alongside plants. Refreshed this year with new soil, it offers hands-on learning and engaging displays for visitors of all ages.
The perennial flower bed features chives, Black-eyed Susans, Echinacea, coral bells, and columbine. As these plants go to seed, visitors can learn about seed saving and the value of leaving spent blooms to support birds and pollinators.
A bed of Ozark Beauty everbearing strawberries invites kids and adults to experience the joy of picking (and tasting) fresh fruit straight from the garden.
Three rotating beds feature a mix of vegetables—including collard greens, beets, heirloom tomatoes, garlic, onions, bush beans, lemon squash, and this year's featured crop, luffa squash—to highlight crop diversity, soil health, and unique edible plants.
