Master Gardeners have developed several gardens within Pike County. Feel free to visit them and collect ideas that might work well in your own yard.
Located at the Penn State Extension of Pike County building at 514 Broad St. in Milford, this demonstration garden is a certified pollinator garden. The project was initiated by the Master Gardener class of 2012 and completed by the 2013 class.
Located at the Blooming Grove State Trooper Barracks, this demonstration garden is a memorial garden for Corporal Dickson, who lost his life in service of Pike County on September 12, 2014.
The Remembrance Garden, a Penn State Extension demonstration site, is cared for by the Master Gardeners of Pike County. Situated at the corner of Elderberry Alley and West Ann Street in Milford, this newly renovated space showcases a diverse collection of sensory plants—inviting visitors to see, smell, touch, and even taste the beauty of the garden.
At the request of the Pike County Commissioners, the Master Gardeners established a pollinator demonstration garden in front of the Courthouse. The various raised garden beds feature evergreens, grasses, pollinators, bulbs, and herbs.
