4-H Member Alexis Blake Takes on the Master Gardener Program in Fayette County

4-H has inspired and impacted so many of us over the years that I wish to share with you one extraordinary 4-H member’s story, and this is just her beginning.

Alexis Blake

Alexis Blake

Alexis Blake is a committed, polished, 4-H buff and a devoted member. She has a long history in 4-H. She has been a Fayette County 4-H member in the 4-H Garden Club, Shotgun, Leadership, Communications, Teen County Council, and has attended the National 4-H Health and Living Summit in 2016.

Alexis attends school at Belle Vernon High School and works at a garden center to feed her passion in gardening. Along with her busy schedule and her “can do” attitude she challenged herself to explore and enroll in the 2016 Penn State Extension Master Gardener Training Class.

A leader in her own right, but one of the youngest members ever to enroll in the Fayette County program, Alexis completed and passed the Master Gardener class with flying colors! Not only is she a 4-H Garden Club member but now she can call herself a Penn State Extension Master Gardener and all before graduating high school. Alexis is a true example of how far one youth can reach in joining 4-H and learning about the Penn State Extension Programs.

When you see Alexis congratulate her on a job well done!
