PYD Foundations: Interactions with Children and Youth

In this lesson youth development professionals serving children from ages 5 through 18 will learn intentional communication techniques to use to create a welcoming and inclusive community of multi-age learners. Youth development professionals will also learn how to foster positive interactions among youth through teaching and practicing group limit setting, stress management, and conflict resolution skills.   • Describe the attitudes, interactions, and communications youth development professionals need to exhibit to promote healthy development in individual children and youth.
  • Discover how to apply this knowledge to groups of children and youth to promote healthy development.

  • Identify tools, resources, methods, and services that enhance multi-age group communication and social interactions.
