Are there any social media marketing materials that are developed that 4-H Educators can use for their county program social media outlets?

Yes, the State 4-H Leadership Working Group has created a communications toolkit containing social media graphics, sample social media content, and sample newsletter content. The communications toolkit and the social media graphics (size for Instagram and Facebook) can be downloaded from Clover Award webpage.

What if an active 4-H member reached the required percentage of club meetings/events within one of their clubs but not another club?

For this leadership award program, the State Working Group is focused on the member's county-wide participation - not a specific club. However, the individual should be a "member in good standing" within their respective county program.

If the local 4-H Educator receives a proposal for the Diamond Level (Level 6) to review and sign off on the application before submitting it to the State Office for the state-level approval, does the county deadline need to be earlier than April 1?

Yes, the State Working Group is asking that the local 4-H Educators receive the individual Diamond Level proposal forms within their local Extension Offices prior to April 1. This will allow the local 4-H Educator the opportunity to review the planning form before submitting to PA4HCloverAward@psu.edu April 1 for the state-level review and approval.

Where can the Clover Award forms be found and downloaded for use?

The finalized forms can be found on the Cloverlink members website. The forms should not be posted on county webpages, as we want to help ensure that all members are using the accurate and most updated forms.

If youth are enrolled in more than one Pennsylvania 4-H county program, are they only permitted to complete the Clover Award program in one of the counties? Also, what if the member is currently on the Pennsylvania 4-H State Council?

Yes, the State Working Group encourages that a member would only apply for the award within their "Primary" county. If the member is currently serving on the Pennsylvania 4-H State Council, they may use the experiences and activities within the application, but the application should still be completed and submitted to the local 4-H Educator.

Are there specific age ranges or minimum ages for each level?

No, this program is based more on the number of years an individual is a member of the Pennsylvania 4-H program. However, this program is NOT designed for Cloverbuds; members can begin when they are 8.

When is the deadline to order the different level pins from Jeannette Stackhouse in the State 4-H Office? Can we order them anytime of the year?

All pin orders are due to Jeanette Stackhouse no later than September 1. If the county deadline for levels 1-5 falls after September 1, still send your anticipated count to ensure pins are ordered. Pad with extras as you see fit.

How much does it cost to purchase the different levels pins from the State 4-H Office, and is there a discount if a higher quantity is ordered?

All pins are sold at $2.40 each and can be purchased by contacting Jeanette Stackhouse in the Pennsylvania 4-H State Office no later than September 1. The State Working Group has already worked to ensure the pins are being offered at the lowest cost possible, so there is no additional bulk discount. Also, counties will be responsible for any required shipping cost, if mailing the order is required.

By collecting orders on September 1, we anticipate delivering pins in person at the Fall Professional Development Meeting for educators to save on shipping.

Are there any other recommendations for the awards or recognition aside from the pins?

Included within the Clover Award website are certificate templates for each level. These certificates can easily be used for levels 1-5 at the county level and printed on a general color printer. A few other recommendations include: small plaques, engraved tumblers, rosette ribbons, etc.

Can Cloverbud members (ages 5-7 as of January 1) participate in the Clover Award program?

Unfortunately, Cloverbuds member cannot apply for the Clover Award levels. The program was developed and intended to begin when the member is 8 years old (as of January 1) or the member's first 4-H program year - whichever applies.
