2019 PA 4-H State Council Announced

The newest team was inducted during the ceremony held at State Leadership Conference in February.

The Pennsylvania 4-H State Council is a premier group of young people selected from around the state to be the official spokespeople for the Pennsylvania 4-H program. Throughout the next year of their term, these individuals will be representing the program at many industry events, planning state level events, and attending 4-H activities and meetings around the state.

The new team was named during 4-H State Leadership Conference in February. Help us welcome them:

President – Andrew Bowman, Lehigh County

An 11 year 4-H member, Bowman has participated in dairy goat and rifle projects. He has held various leadership positions, including the club level and serving on the Penn State Extension Board. He has attended several state events. A senior at Northern Lehigh High School, Bowman is involved in marching band, scholastic scrimmage, and chess club. He is the son of Melanie and John Bowman of Slatington.

Vice President of Operations and Events – Kelsey Bish, Clarion/Venango County

Bish has been a 10-year member of 4-H, participating in swine, goat, photography, baking, leadership, and forestry projects. Beyond the county, she has served as a camp counselor and attended state and national events. A recent graduate of Keystone Junior-Senior High School, Bish was involved in student government, soccer, and participates in her church youth group and VBS. She is the daughter of Charles and Paula Bish of Knox.

Vice President of Internal Affairs – Addison Neff, Dauphin County

During her seven years of involvement in Dauphin County 4-H, Neff has participated in rabbit, poultry, sewing and fiber arts, cake decorating, and photography projects. She has attended state and national 4-H events. She is a senior at Covenant Christian Academy where she is involved in varsity volleyball and basketball and involved in her church. She is the daughter of Dale and Janell Neff of Harrisburg.

Secretary – Trisha Poorbaugh, Fayette County

An eight-year member of 4-H, Poorbaugh has been involved in livestock and creative arts projects. Holding several officer positions led to participating in leadership retreats and attending many state and national events. As a senior at Connellsville Area High School, Poorbaugh is involved in National Honor Society, varsity golf team, and PA Junior Academy of Science. She is the daughter of Ronette and Jon Poorbaugh of Mount Pleasant.

Reporter / Historian – Molly Scheetz, Bucks County

Scheetz has participated in livestock, shotgun, and livestock judging / skillathon projects during her nine years in 4-H. She has taught programs locally for fellow 4-H members, attended many state events, and qualified for national contests as a representative of 4-H. Scheetz is a freshman at Bucks County Community College and the daughter of Monica and Mark Scheetz of Sellersville.
