Andrea Repetz – Cumberland County, President

Andrea Repetz has had an accomplished June. Andrea gave one speech at the West Shore School District School board meeting about her year thus far on the State 4-H Council. For promotional events, Andrea attended the FFA State Convention and tours of both the Lancaster Farming and Department of Agriculture Facilities. Andrea completed two hours of community service by participating in her school’s “pretzel sale” to help raise funds for the spring musical program. Some of Andrea’s personal accomplishments this month include graduating high school, organizing her class Baccalaureate, writing a series of thank-yous to her teachers, and completing the State Council’s May vlog. Contacts Andrea made this month include members of 4-H Ghana, Charlene Shupp-Espenshade - Lancaster Farming, Bill Burgess - Lancaster Farming, Lawrence Barringer - PDA Entomologist, Sven Spichiger - PDA Entomologist.

Jared Rose – Crawford County, Vice President of Operations

Jared Rose has had an exciting June. For promotional events, Jared attended the PA 4-H Science of Agriculture State Competition and both the Lancaster Farming and Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Tours. Jared completed three days’ worth of community service at the science of agriculture competition completing various tasks. One contact Jared had made this month was Charlene Shupp-Espenshade - Lancaster Farming Magazine.

Anna Schmitt – Washington County, Vice President of Events

 

Kayla Kimble – Clinton County, Vice President of Internal Affairs

Kayla Kimble has had an exciting June. Kayla presented one workshop on “pig showmanship” to 4-H members at Ripka Farms this month. For promotional events, Kayla visited the Center County 4-H Robotics Team’s Open House and both the Lancaster Farming and Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Tours. Kayla also completed one and a half hours of community service by organizing shoes for donation for the Shoebox Recycling Program. A personal accomplishment by Kayla this month is graduating high school! Contacts made this month Don Hahn- State College Mayor, Robert O’Brian, Sheri Collins, Bill Burgess, and Charlene Shupp-Espenshade.

Shirlann Harmon – Butler County, Secretary

 

Julia Jumper – Westmoreland County, Sentinel

Julia Jumper has had a busy June. Julia spent time speaking about 4-H at her County Communications Contest. For promotional events this month, Julia was able to attend the Pennsylvania 4-H Science of Agriculture State Competition, FFA State Convention, and both Lancaster Farming and Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture tours. Julie completed seven hours of community service volunteering and donating blood at her club blood drive. One of Julia’s personal accomplishments includes graduating high school. Contacts that Julia made this month include Science of Agriculture committee members and delegates, Lancaster Farming Staff, Staff of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, and FFA members from both Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico.

Annah Burke – Forest County, Reporter

Annah Burke has had a great month. She also helped present two workshops, one at Clarion County Extension Office on “Good Production Practices” as well as helping and speaking at the Clarion County Teen Council Meeting. For promotional events Annah attended the Forest County May Teen Council Meeting, Science of Agriculture State Competition, and both the Lancaster Farming and Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Tours. She completed Seven volunteer hours by coordinating and running the Tidioute Community Charter School April Blood Drive. Annah’s personal accomplishment for this month includes graduating high school. Contacts made include Lancaster Farming employees, employees of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Committee members and delegates of the Science of Agriculture Challenge, and Clarion County Teen Council Members.

Caroline Benfer – Union County, Historian

Caroline Benfer has had an accomplished June. She helped serve as master of ceremonies at the Science of Agriculture Challenge this past month. Caroline also attended the Science of Agriculture Challenge and the annual FFA Convention as promotional events. For community service this month, Caroline completed five hours of community service at the Lincoln Chapel UMC annual Summer BBQ to help raise funds towards a youth mission trip. One of Caroline’s personal accomplishments is that she began working her summer job at Camp Woodward. Contacts made this month include Pennsylvania 4-H Educators at the Science of Agriculture Challenge and the 2017-2018 FFA State Officer Team.
