Union County 4-H

The Union County 4-H Program is open to boys and girls ages 5-18, as of January 1. In Union County, there are 9 different clubs in which a member has the opportunity to join. It is recommended that a member choose to join one or two clubs. Each club has its own dynamics, such as meeting time, meeting place, frequency of meetings, and projects it offers. Please visit "Our Clubs" to find out more information about each club.

Our Clubs

  • Buffalo Valley Sharpshooters
  • Cowan Ag
  • Farm Safety
  • Good Time
  • Kelly-Ites
  • Lucky Clovers
  • Outdoor Survivors
  • Valley Riders
  • Teen Council (open to members ages 13 and older)

2016 Program Year

The 2016 program year begins on October 1, 2015. If interested in becoming a livestock member, the enrollment deadline is April 1, 2016. All other members must be enrolled by May 1, 2016.

The cost to participate is $20, plus any fees associated with project materials.

4-H Projects

As part of the 4-H program requirements, a member must complete a 4-H project and keep a record on that project. There are over 200 projects and activities for a 4-H member to choose from. Although there are many projects, 4-H members are encouraged to pick a few projects, and do those projects well; quality, not quantity.

Our younger members, ages 5-7, are called Cloverbuds. There are specific projects designed for the Cloverbuds in mind. These projects are non-competitive, age-appropriate, safe, short-term activities.
