What is 4-H?

It's a fun way to learn-It's a great way to meet people-It helps develop new skills

4-H is the youth educational program of the Penn State Cooperative Extension. 4-H programs are open to boys and girls from 8-18 of age by January 1, regardless of sex, race, religious affiliation, or handicap.  Some clubs offer a Cloverbud program for youth 5-7 years of age as of January 1st.

4-H'ers "learn by doing" with the help of volunteers 4-H leaders.  They choose from all kinds of projects.  From crafts to cooking to babysitting to plants to wildlife, all the projects include fun activities.

Other county events and opportunities include a kickoff party, camp, field trips, community service, roundup and for teen members activities at Penn State University.

$20 Educational Material Fee at sign up for each members.  Horse Club and Shooting Sports Clubs have additional program fees.

If you have more questions about 4-H, please call the Penn Stat Extension office at 570-784-6660 X 17.
