Do a minimum of seven activities in the “Scratching the Surface” project book and participate in a minimum of three learning experiences listed on the planning guide (page3).

For the Fair you should bring the Scratching the Surface Project which shows you completed the requirements AND either “show” your poultry** or create a poster related to your poultry project. The poster can be on anything poultry related. Some ideas might include a poster on breeds of poultry, specifics on one type of poultry, equipment used with poultry, parts of a type of poultry, etc. The poster can be standard poster board size or can be half - 22” X14” size.

Embryology

Completed project book and a display that features your project. Display may include pictures, models, equipment, drawings, and samples.
Demonstration Opportunity – We will be holding a Public Speaking/Presentation contest on Monday Aug. 4th at 1 pm.

Demonstration Opportunity

We will be holding a Public Speaking/Presentation contest on Monday Aug. 4th at 1 pm.

This is a great opportunity to share with others your poultry project and also is one of the options on the “learning experiences”. You must preregister so we can prepare for the contest. You are able to use you birds as part of your Demonstration if you would like.

This could also be an egg cooking demonstration. I know you practiced this at one of your club meetings. If you need a burner or other cooking supplies please notify Toni at the 4-H office when you register.

There are many other opportunities… refer to the Chester County 4-H catalog for more opportunities.

The catalog and other Fair details can be found on our website  http://extension.psu.edu/4-h/counties/chester
