The Butler County Pomona Grange is pleased to offer a scholarship of $300. This will be awarded toward the higher education of an eligible 4-H member.

Eligibility, Rules, and Procedures

  • Applicant must be a current 4-H member in the Butler County 4-H program.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in a College or University program pursuing a career agriculture, horticulture, animal science, or any other agricultural program.
  • Selection will be based on the applicant's record of continued involvement in skills learned in 4-H, participation in school and community activities, and their scholastic achievements.
  • Awards will be made without regard to race, sex, religion, disability or handicap, or financial need.
  • Application form should be typed or printed neatly.
  • Completed applications must be received at the Butler County Extension Office, 101 Motor Pool Way, Butler, Pa. 16001, no later than 4:30 pm on July 31st of the current year. If July 31st falls on a weekend, applications must be received by 4:30 pm on the preceding Friday.
  • Late and/or incomplete applications will not be accepted and will not be considered for a scholarship.
  • Selection of the scholarship recipient is the responsibility of Butler County Pomona Grange Committee or its designees.
  • Announce of the scholarship will be made during the 4-H/FFA livestock Sale at the Butler Farm Show.
  • If an applicant chosen fails to attend the College or University they enrolled in, the scholarship award must be returned to Butler County Pomona Grange program.

Scholarship Application Checklist

  • Completed application
  • Proof of enrollment or attendance at an accredited college or university. The committee will accept only a letter of enrollment confirmation, a receipt of tuition payment or other form of enrollment documentation. A letter of acceptance is NOT proof of enrollment.
  • High school or college transcript (if currently attending a post-secondary school)
