Prevent Spotted Lanternfly from Spreading: A Checklist for Travelers

This invasive and destructive pest threatens Pennsylvania's agricultural commodities and trade, has a healthy appetite for our plants, and can be a significant nuisance to our quality of life and enjoyment of the outdoors. Use this checklist to help stop the invasion!

Before you travel or move anything:

  • Check your vehicle and any items that have been stored outdoors
  • Remove all stages of spotted lanternfly

Inspect your vehicle and all items and destroy any spotted lanternflies you find.

all vehicles and items you are moving.

Outdoor and garden items

  • Garden tools
  • Lawn mowers
  • Grills
  • Firewood
  • Outdoor furniture
  • Pop-up tents
  • Camping equipment
  • Plant containers
  • Dog houses, rabbit sheds, chicken coops, etc.
  • Yard decorations
  • Bicycles
  • Playhouses
  • Any other items that have been stored outdoors
