About the Live Webinar
Pesticide Applicator Short Course (Core | Cat. 06, 07, 10, 23) will help build a foundation of knowledge about safe and proper handling and use of pesticides. The course will assist registrants with passing the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture's pesticide applicator exams for Core and Categories 06, 07, 10, and 23.

Topics covered in the study materials will be reinforced to prepare applicators to take the Pennsylvania certification exam. New applicators are not required to attend the class before taking the exam; however, it may help you prepare.
Certification Exam Study Materials
Study materials are not included with the registration fee. All participants are responsible for obtaining their own Core and Category certification examination training materials for the class.
Order your training packets in advance at the Certification Exam Study Materials website to ensure they arrive in time for you to use during the course. If you are planning to use study packets that were previously purchased, please be aware some materials were updated. Please be sure your study materials include the updated manuals.Â
Ordering information is available at the Certification Exam Study Materials website or by calling Penn State Publications Distribution Center 1-877-345-0691 (toll-free). Please allow four business days to receive your study materials. Orders should be placed before 3:00 PM.
Registration is required to receive the link to access the webinar.
A link to the recorded webinar will be emailed to registrants within 10 business days after the live event. The recording will be accessible for six months from the event start.
- Commercial Applicators - Those employed applying pesticides to customer's properties (i.e., those who apply pesticides for hire)
- Public Applicators - Those employed by the state, a municipality, a public school district, or whose employer is funded by public money
- Private Applicators - Those who intend to purchase and apply restricted use pesticides to property they or their employer own or rent for the production of an agricultural commodity, including nursery and greenhouse
- Core - Training and testing on pesticide safety and regulations is required for every certified applicator
- Category 6: Ornamental and Shade Trees - Required for applicators treating trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants in residential and commercial landscapes
- Category 7: Lawn and Turf - Required for applicators treating lawn and turf areas
- Category 10: Rights-of-Way and Weeds - Required for applicators controlling vegetation on rights-of-way, roads and industrial sites, as well as landscapers who control weeds on sidewalks and driveways
- Category 23: Park and School Pest Control - Required for applicators applying pesticides in a campground or recreational area of a public or private park, or on elementary or secondary school property

If I register for a webinar, but am unable to attend the live session, can I view a recording of the webinar at a later time?
Yes, registrants will have access to view the webinar recording regardless if they attended the live session. A link to the recorded webinar will be emailed to registrants within 10 business days after the live session occurred. You will have access to view the recording for six months from the date of the event.
Can a recorded webinar be viewed multiple times?
In most cases, yes! If a webinar is recorded, there is no limit to how many times the recording can be viewed.
