About the Hybrid Workshop
"Pelleting Biomass for Rural Energy Applications" offers a practical introduction to the pelleting process, guiding participants through the steps that transform loose switchgrass and other biomass into dense, uniform, and transportable fuel. Designed for those interested in renewable energy applications, the session will cover key feedstock characteristics and process parameters that most influence pellet quality and performance. While switchgrass—a native perennial grass—will be the primary focus, participants will also explore how other biomass sources can be effectively used for residential heating, combined heat and power (CHP) systems, and industrial thermal applications.
