General Instructions for Use

The 2019 edition (v6.0) of the pesticide spray record-keeping spreadsheet contains an updated database of spray products for apples and peaches and has revised the list of spray compounds for these two fruit crops to merge the pesticide and herbicide products into a single list.  The database of products for cherry and pear remain the same as in the 2018 edition (v5.0).

Getting Started

  1. Download either the 2019 edition (v6.0) or the 2018 edition (v5.0). (The 2019 edition is recommended, but the 2018 edition is also available should you encounter problems with the latest version.)
  2. Begin with the tab labeled "Background Info" and fill in Grower Name, Grower Number, Farm Information, and Applicator Information
  3. The tabs named "Apples," "Peaches," "Cherries", and "Pears" are for recording your sprays.
  4. Make an entry each time a product is used in the field by clicking the tab for the crop you wish to record. For each application, fill in columns in blue. Skipping a line before recording your next spray will create an easier to read form. Always read the pesticide label.
  5. A nice way to review the principles of IPM is to view a new Penn State Extension Video on IPM in Orchards. The video is also available in Spanish.
Who is this for?

People interested in maintaining a record of spray products applied to their fruit orchards, particularly commercial growers who must report spray applications to processors, packers, and the EPA.
