About Me

As a member of Penn State Extension's Horticulture Team, Nick's role is to help Green Industry businesses overcome challenges using the latest research-backed information. In addition to developing and delivering educational content, Nick is involved with the Penn State Flower Trials program and conducts research to address the needs of greenhouse growers in Pennsylvania. With experience in the commercial greenhouse and retail garden center industries, he brings a field-based skill set to the team and a practical perspective to solutions that he offers growers in PA. Through his education, research background, and industry experience, his areas of expertise include: young-plant production, bedding-plant and container-crop production, crop production using bio-based plant containers, hydroponics, entomology, plant pathology, integrated pest management (IPM), biological and biorational pest management, and controlled environment crop physiology.
