Using Non-Cache Storing Browser Windows

Use the following instructions to open a non-cache storing browser window. This will alleviate problems you might be experiencing accessing an online course or registering for an event. First, find the appropriate operating system and browser, then follow the instructions to successfully open a non-cache browser window. Please note that these instructions are for desktop use only. 

Window OS Users

Google Chrome

  • In the upper right corner click on the three vertical dots button, then select “Open New Incognito window”.
    Alternatively you can press Ctrl + Shift + N to open the Incognito browser window as well.

Mozilla Firefox

  • In the upper right corner click on the three horizontal lines button, then select “New private window”.
    Alternatively you can press Ctrl + Shift + P to open the Private browser window as well.

Microsoft Edge

  • In the upper right corner click on the three horizontal dots button, then select “New InPrivate window”.
    Alternatively you can press Ctrl + Shift + N to open the Private browser window as well.

Mac OS Users

Google Chrome

  • Press Shift + Command + N to open the Incognito browser window.

Mozilla Firefox

  • Press Shift + Command + P to open the Private browser window.

Safari

  • At the top click on the “File” option, then select “New Private Window”.
    Alternatively you can press Shift + Command + N to open the Private browser window as well.
