About the Online Sale
The 2025 Master Watershed Steward Native Tree and Shrub Sale is the fifth annual fall fundraiser for the Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward Program. Choose among 23 different native trees and shrubs and then select the pickup location most convenient for you from 29 locations across the state. Funds from your purchase will support the Master Watershed Steward activities in that region, such as stream repair projects, tree plantings, youth education programs, and more! Whether you're seeking trees for privacy, foliage, shade, attracting pollinators, or just something beautiful to look at, we have a variety of trees and shrubs to fit your needs and make a nice addition to your property.
Trees and shrubs will be available in 2-gallon containers ($33), with one item offered in a 1-gallon size ($20) and one item in a 3-gallon size ($45). Curbside pickup will be available at one of 29 locations across the state during September and October.
How to Order
- Browse all available items in the Tree and Shrub Catalog which includes photos and detailed descriptions.
- Once you've selected the items you'd like to purchase, click the Order Now button.
- Complete the Tree and Shrub Order Form, selecting the quantities of each item you wish to purchase.
- Choose the pickup location that's most convenient for you.
- To complete your order, provide payment (if required), and submit your form!
Tree and Shrub Selection Details
- Species and available quantities each year are determined in part by variable stock, the growing season, and the anticipated fall condition of the native plants from the source nursery. Any plants not picked up by the date and time listed for your registration location will be donated. For additional details, see the site-specific pickup instructions and map document.
- We guarantee that a healthy specimen will be supplied at pick up. However, due to variations in planting, site conditions, and care, no guarantees or refunds will be provided after tree pickup.
- Remember to consider both aboveground and belowground utilities, as well as the mature growth size of the tree, when choosing one for your property. Always call 811 before you dig.
- Orders will be placed online for curbside pickup in the fall.

As spots become available, we offer them "first come, first served." If a spot becomes available, you will be contacted using the information you provided.
